Luftwaffe Jaeger Platoon

Luftwaffe Jaegers. Meant to put these up last week, but completely forgot. Click on pics to expand.

No 5-man bases...I just don't do it any more unless it serves some specific purpose, e.g. for SMG teams, etc. The Panzerfaust gunner is a Skytrex figure (thanks Colin!), but I painted him without Camou for a change. Some of the pics are a bit out of focus...need a light box. Bushes are Woodland Scenics Fine Leaf Foliage...just something different.

The epaulettes are technically incorrect as Luftwaffe Jaegers would be wearing white.

The officer has a blued cap, the rest should as well, but I only found that out later.

  1. Beautiful! Got here from FOW forum. Which (one?) set of figures is this based on?

  2. Hey VP,

The figures are the Battlefront "Luftwaffe Field (Jaeger) Platoon", code GE802.

You can find them here: http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=619

    How to field them: http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=618

    Hope that helps.

  4. I sometimes list a few things on e-bay. These might go that way in a few weeks. Any links will usually be posted here.

  5. Very nice! What color do you use for your bases?

  6. Bases are simple sand glued on, the larger particles act as small rocks, etc. Painted with Americana Acrylics (1) Raw Sienna (2) Washed with watered-down Chocolate Brown,(3) Dry-brushed Raw Sienna again, then (4) dry-brushed Honey Brown.

Vellejo equivalents would be something like Flat Earth & Burnt Umber, while the highlight would be similar to Beige Brown.

  7. Oh yeah, and the rocks are Grey, dry-brushed with a lighter grey. Simple really.

Noch static grass & WS Fine Leaf Foligae for bushed.

  8. These are my all time favorite FOW miniatures that you painted up here. It's inspired me to try them out myself someday.

    Cheers

  9. Beautiful painting incredibly clean and bright - really hard to believe they are only 15mm... how long does it take you to paint each figure and any chance of you posting a tutorial on your process

  10. Hi John,

These came in at around 80 min. per figure...I am slow though.

A basic tutorial of how I paint can be found here: http://cracdeschevaliers.blogspot.com/2010/03/painting-by-layers.html

I haven't done any tutorials on painting Splinter camo: one for the future perhaps ;)
