After applying glue, I leave the base covered in the grass overnight to ensure a good "coverage" of the grass. Some of the grass will stand upright and some in other directions.

If you want all you static grass to stand upright you'll need something like the Noch Grassmaster to do it. While nice, I can't really be bothered with that when I can buy Silflor tufts; much easier.

CdlTChevalier de la Terrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12797434491077369704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931556221326391910.post-12025750884115310362012-05-03T23:30:32.896+02:002012-05-03T23:30:32.896+02:00how do you get the static gras to stand up? withou...how do you get the static gras to stand up? without blowing and tapingAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931556221326391910.post-51552782604100935522012-04-17T21:10:28.221+02:002012-04-17T21:10:28.221+02:00Thanks Troy.
I forgot to mention it above, but I...Thanks Troy.

I forgot to mention it above, but I also file down the thicker infantry bases (a problem on many BF ranges); this helps with needing less "build up" around the figures to hide the bases. Not as much of an issue with Forged in Battle, Peter Pig, etc.

RexChevalier de la Terrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12797434491077369704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931556221326391910.post-19866969477328812262012-04-17T20:44:46.383+02:002012-04-17T20:44:46.383+02:00Good Tute!
Nice pictures and great description.
...Good Tute!

Nice pictures and great description.

I am currently gluing the minis down and then adding basing material (white glue, tile grout and sand) over top but this seems to be time consuming when you are working between the figures. Love the idea with the bayonette placement - few of my Ruskies bayos took some battle damage from the last con!

TroyRitterkrieghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13381457449492806328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931556221326391910.post-26827596154736964122012-04-12T02:09:55.983+02:002012-04-12T02:09:55.983+02:00Good post and I will have to try your photography ...Good post and I will have to try your photography advice.
Thanks.The Kiwihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06829184068503627810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931556221326391910.post-2274866693985887152012-04-11T19:45:20.359+02:002012-04-11T19:45:20.359+02:00Cheers guys.

Camera on Maro setting, Exposure @ +0.7 - +1.3 (depends on subject colour) to get nice bright pics, overhead lamp and one to each side as well (daylight bulbs), several sheets of white A4 paper as a background, f-stop number as high as it can go (F/8 on my camera), ISO as low as it can go. Take pictures.

Still doesn't work sometimes, really just trial and error on my part. Believe it or not, I have no real idea what I'm doing with regards to photography.

CdlTChevalier de la Terrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12797434491077369704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931556221326391910.post-20562865752062657562012-04-11T16:04:22.325+02:002012-04-11T16:04:22.325+02:00quite super basing.
